My favorite song

I had to post the words to this song. I can't stop listening to it right now, I love it so much. Ryan told me that he substitutes the name Delilah for Whitney, he is so sweet! I tried to post a link of this song to my site but none of them worked, so you just have to look it up and listen if you haven't heard it. It is so beautiful!! This song is by the Plain White T's.-
"Hey There Delilah"

Hey there Delilah
What's it like in New York City?
I'm a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Time Square can't shine as bright as you
I swear it's true
**
Hey there Delilah
Don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it's my disguise
I'm by your side
*
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me
*
Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar
We'll have it good
We'll have the life we knew we would
My word is good
**
Hey there Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all
*
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
*
A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they've got planes and trains and cars
I'd walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
and we'll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you're to blame
**
Hey there Delilah
You be good and don't you miss me
Two more years and you'll be done with school
And I'll be making history like I do
You know it's all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here's to you
This ones for you
*
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me.

The best

Today was the best ever! I worked a graveyard shift last night which means that I get home at about 5:15am. When I got home I snuck into the boys room and checked on them and lucky me, I caught Gauge stirring. So I run into his room and change his little bum, happy as I can be to do it. At around 6, I am able to break away and cuddle up to Ryan in bed.

Next thing I know its 1pm. As I try to wake myself up I count how many hrs I have had to sleep and decide that I am at 8 now and I had better get up. Just then the door opens and Ry, Pax and Gauge all bust into the room and jump onto the bed with me. Ryan has a meal made for me in the kitchen and I am showered with kisses and hugs. I just have to be the most lucky woman in the world. I have the best family!

The rest of my day was spent watching a movie with Ryan and then going for a drive with everyone. Driving is a favorite past time of ours, its something Ryan and I have always done to get away. Even when we were dating, we would drive around in Ryan's Riv with Pink Floyd playing and just talk and talk. Now we have the boys to enjoy it with and the best part is that they almost always fall asleep, so its kind of like getting some time with Ryan alone.

I know it probably doesn't sound like much, but I really had such a great day. I love it when Ryan is home and I love spending time with these guys. Thank you so much Ry, for taking such good care of me! I love you!

I have to just add this side note because as I was thinking about it I realized that I really do not want to forget the little things like this about raising these boys. So, let me explain what it was like checking on the boys this morning.

When I walked in the room Paxton was laying in the middle of the floor. Every single night Paxton ends up on the floor somewhere. This time, his legs were right where I needed to stand at the end of Gauge's crib in order to get to Gauge. This was a bit of a predicament!

Some of you might think, why don't you move Paxton-especially since he is on the floor?! BUT at 5-6 in the am, you can't do one thing to wake this kid or any hopes Ryan had of sleeping or any hopes I may have had of getting to bed are OVER!

So really you need to imagine me in the dark, balancing in between Paxton's legs, not letting Gauge make a peep so that Paxt doesn't wake up, changing a poopy bum and then feeding the kid. It was a tough job and am happy to report it was a total success!

A Few Photos of Gauge

Gauge makes me feel like the most special person in the world! Wherever I am in the room, he is watching me and when I look at him he just breaks out into a big smile. He is such a happy child and he only cries when he is tired so far. As soon as he gets fussy, I lay him down and he goes to sleep. These kids are too easy on me, I am so blessed! Here are some pictures of Gauge that I have taken recently. He is getting so big. At his Dr appt at the beginning of January he was 12.9 lbs and he was in the 90th percentile. A lot smaller than Paxton was at this age, but still a big kid! He is growing so fast, he has almost caught up with his cousin Kyra who is 4 months older then him. Gauge is also ticklish now. My favorite thing to do is tickle him because he squirms so much and he has a huge smile but he hasn't quite figured out how to let out the laugh. I will have to post some video that Ryan and I took of him today. He was talking his head off. Lately he will tell us stories that seem to go on forever. I can't get enough of it. He talks and smiles all day long!

I got this onsie from some girls at work, it reads "Hi, I'm new here" I love it!
Playing on his new toy
Hanging out waiting for his cousin Kyra to get here
Such a cute smile I had to post this pic
Gauge and his cousin Kyra

This face is classic!! He smiles later but I get this face every once in awhile and I have to just laugh!

I...U

Paxton is such a busy body I can hardly keep up with him. It starts first thing in the morning where he rips the covers off of mommy and grabs my hand to pull me out of bed with a "good morning Whit" (he calls Ryan daddy or Ryee but he refuses to say mommy) Then we have a full day of baby Einstein where we learn our shapes and numbers etc, little Einsteins because he loves "pat-pat-pat", and later he catches Sesame Street so that he can watch his most favorite of all Elmo, whom he calls "la la" because of the Elmo's world theme song. I know that sounds like a lot of TV but keep in mind we're inside all day... and frankly, its not too much! :) We try to take a daily walk or to get outside or go somewhere at least once a day although that doesn't happen much lately. Then Paxton will continue to climb, pretend, and play all day until it is time for bed where he actually will quietly lay down in bed, ask for myself or Ryan to sing him a song and then he says "good night, I..U" (he doesn't have the word love down quite yet) It is so precious! Lately we are actually getting I...U Wyee (still me) or I..U Daddy.
Here are some pictures from the past two weeks:

Of course he has his cowboy hat on, he loves it and when I first bought it he wore it all around the house for days

Getting out of the bath, and showing his muscles. Notice the towel is wrapped like a big boy. He ran in to show me how dad wrapped it for him.

A Busy day at McDonalds. Since its been cold outside this is one of the places I take him to play and he loves it. When he finally gets tired he will just sit and watch the other children play. He loves other kids and will try to hug them whenever he can! Mom's not too fond of this practice but he is just a sweetheart!

Paxton has to wear his shades whenever he sees mommy or daddy wearing shades.
We took him to the motorcycle shop, his favorite place to be...he actually fits the 50. Ryan thinks he is ready to start riding, we'll see! Doesn't he look good?!After all is said and done, he still finds time to help mom clean the kitchen. What a little helper!

the Brothers

Today I was going through the pictures that I have taken recently and realized that I have quite a few pictures of my boys together. These two are always together and now that Gauge is smiling, it is quite obvious that he loves Paxton as much as Paxton loves him. Every chance that he gets Paxton is sitting next to Gauge, holding his hand and kissing him. Gauge can't stop watching Paxton and smiling any time he realizes that Paxton is in the room. I can't wait until Gauge gets old enough for these two to really play.
You'll notice here that Paxton has to touch Gauge, even when sleeping

Every time I set Gauge down, Paxton cuddles up next to him
Paxton wants me to point out that his pal Woody is in this picture

Christmas Trip

Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season!

We had the most wonderful trip to Idaho! The trip was so nice because we got to hang out with Ryan's brother Dan and his wife Sarah. We also hung out in Cascade Idaho where Paxton and Gauge's Grandma and Grandpa Kerlee live. Cascade Idaho is literally in the middle of the mountains. Don and Sheila (grandma and grandpa Kerlee) re-built an existing house and have made their own little bit of heaven in Cascade. There was not a better place for santa to visit.

We were able to show Paxton some things that he has never seen or experienced before. He fed horses and rode on a snowmobile which he LOVED! We were also able to go up to McCall Idaho which is about 45 minutes North of Cascade for some breakfast and some site seeing. Idaho is such a beautiful place, we didn't want to leave. Here are some pictures from our Christmas trip, sorry there are so many! I got a digital camera for Christmas woohoo!
(Thanks mom)!
