Pioneer Day

Pioneer day was wonderful to say the least. It's the first day Ryan and I have had off together in quite some time. We took the boys to the duck pond earlier in the day and then spent some time with my family that evening.
This is Gauge, escaping capture...
Ryan the duck whisperer This could just be my favorite picture ever! a hike around campus
We staged the picture with Gauge too, he took off by the time I got the shot snapped.
That night we went to my parent's for our little reunion.
What was so special about this get together with my family is first, it doesn't happen much. Second, my brother John and his family were here from Spokane and we have really missed them. Our Grandparents were going to try to make it but weren't able to in the end. We missed you Grandma and Grandpa!!
We had a BBQ, I didn't get any pictures. I don't know why. Later we lit fireworks and hung out for awhile.
The gang
Pyrotechnic crew
The Show
Gauge was so tired! My beautiful Mom Paxton's new best friend and cousin Katie! We had such a blast! I took so many more pictures but they didn't turn out with the setting sun. I even got a funny one with my sister in law Karli but it didn't turn out either.
It was so nice to see you all!

Random July

Here are some random pictures that we took throughout July. This first one, you will have to just overlook the messy office...
He's dressed as a horse!

This is when Ryan got home from Fontana. The boys wouldn't sit anywhere else! "I'm Batman" Nightly Walks
We were changing the radio station when we noticed Gauge plugging his ears...
Look at this kid!

One last run

Ryan took the boys out so that I could have some time to myself. They took the race car on her last run.
Aaron and Doug came out to see the car which I thought was cool!
This was one of the best times with the car because they could just play. Ryan didn't have many oportunities to race a lot earlier because they had to practice for the actual race so those who were going to race in Fontana had to drive. Today was Ryan's turn. They weren't having to time and evaluate, there were only a couple team members there to drive and they just burned rubber and had fun. A good time was had by all.

What's happening

It is hard to keep up with the blogging lately. I feel terrible but just can't get myself to do it while I am at home. I have a new shift at work as well and haven't had a minute to do it there either.
To be totally honest, I feel pregnant. Which means I can't get enough sleep. I can't complain though because I have NOT been sick even a little bit!!
I try really hard to be productive but Ryan ends up keeping up all of the slack. I am almost out of my first trimester so hopefully things will pick up. I just start feeling so guilty when I am too tired to do anything. I couldn't imagine life being like this all of the time, it would be terrible! One good thing for me is that I am no longer working graves for the time being. For the first time in over a year I have a swing shift. Its been really nice being up in the mornings and sometimes even catching a sunrise and the coolness from the night air. Wow, you don't realize how much you miss stuff like that until you get a chance to feel it again. I get home at 1am and get to wake up with the boys.
Ryan is on the opposite schedule, he works every day that I don't and he is gone all morning. We are trying to get used to the opposite schedule again, I think it will come.
Ryan is back to work at Salt Lake Valley Slingers. He has been there for two weeks now. Those guys are really awesome! They totally accommodate him. They let him work around my hours and let him keep coming back even though he is heading back to school in only a few more weeks.
I have a lot of pictures to post. Ryan and some of his teammates on the formula team took the car out last Saturday and got to race it around just for fun. I promise to post those later. He took Paxton and Gauge with him and they got to hang out in the car a little bit too.
Paxton is my big helper and is also known as Batman. The kid follows Gauge around the house making sure he doesn't do something that will make a mess or hurt himself. He helps me wherever he can and he cannot wait to have a new baby in the family. He asks me things all of the time "Mom, let me tell you a question" when I tell him to go ahead he says a really long "welllll" then continues with some sort of cute comment.
He loves to exercise. I try to get some sort of exercise done everyday and when I do my video he is right there next to me punching and kicking his heart out. Every once in awhile he will start running circles around me until he is too tired to continue. He also loves doing the games on Noggin, Disney and PBS. When I do take a nap with Gauge he gets on the computer all by himself, finds the games and plays them all. He is getting pretty good! He can't wait to go back to school. He doesn't know when it is but he knows its coming and he is already asking for back to school things. He loves to jump on the trampoline with Gauge, mostly to knock him over. He tells me all of the time that he loves to be a good boy and he really does. He can't stand doing something that upsets us. I don't know how we got so lucky to have such special kids!
Gauge keeps me tired, and makes me more tired. He still keeps me smiling though. He runs around the house 100mph from the minute he gets out of bed until we put him back to bed. Seriously, when you hold him, its like holding a windup toy because the second you put him down, he takes off in whatever direction you pointed him in. He is pretty good at getting away too. What I mean is that lately I will go into the kitchen or somewhere that he is getting into something and usually making a mess. The second he hears me, he doesn't even look, he just takes off in the other direction as fast as he can go. I don't even get a chance to scold him, that's how fast he is!
He is also a climber. He climbs up on everything there is to climb. He has mastered the kitchen counter, he almost has the trampoline by himself and he climbs the tree out back. He has no fear. I watched him this morning decide he was ready to get out of his high chair so he stood up and dove off the chair into the couch it was next too. He is too tough for his own good. Had he missed the couch and gotten hurt, guaranteed the kid wouldn't have cried even a little. I can't tell you how many scrapes and bruises we find on him, not ever one peep.
His best pal is his Woody doll from Toy Story. He takes that guy everywhere. Toy story is his favorite movie too. He loves to give us kisses these days, he makes the mmwa sound and almost every time he does a lap around the house he will come find me and give me a hug. He is such a sweetheart!
I will try to do better with the blogging. I have some pictures to post, so I'll get those up to. I hope your all doing well! We love you!

Cop on brownies

This just cracked me up!
(you will have to stop the music on the sidebar)
This is just a good example of what I have to deal with at work on a regular. Maybe thats why it cracks me up so much. I just laughed harder the more I watched it!

Our Fourth of July

In the post below I was able to hang out with my girlfriends. Well, to explain the same clothing...that night was the 3rd of July. At about 4:30 that same night Ryan and I realized that whatever we were going to do tonight was it for us, because I worked all day on the 4th. With that said we quickly looked up what was going on in Park City. That's where we usually celebrate the 4th now when I don't work.
As hoped, the Canyon's was throwing a fire works show and the morning of the 4th they were having a small parade. By 5:30 we were on the road ready to celebrate our Holiday. We didn't pack anything. We took the clothes on our backs, I found an AWESOME deal on a last minute hotel room right down town and we took off. When we got to Park City we ate, got situated at the hotel and let the boys play around. After it started to get close to dark we headed to the Canyons where they take you up on the tram for live music and the fireworks show.
The picture above is a view of the Canyon's at dusk while we were on the tramHere we are on the tram. That thing goes fast, it was Awesome! Paxton kept yelling that he was flying. Here is a picture to show you how many people were up there, it was packed. Tons of people camped out on blankets for the show We quickly found a spot up at the top and hunkered down. We must have taken 40-50 pictures of fireworks and none of them turned out very well but the show was pretty cool. I just love watching fireworks while listening to patriotic music!!By the time we got back down on the tram and out of the completely packed parking lot it was pretty late. By the time we got back to the hotel and Gauge finally went to sleep because he was so pumped up from being there, it was 1 am. Needless to say they were pretty tired for the parade the next morning.
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
In Provo at the Grand parade they send jets to fly over at the very beginning. They do it at the Stadium of Fire too. The same jets flew over at this tiny parade and were way low!! It was pretty cool! Some cool and weird stuff at the parade:
A camel
Mariachi band
Carnies (they smelled like cabage)
Bob sled floats
Floats with actual snow on them and skiers being pulled behind and skiing down the road
A lot of classic Corvette's
I'm pretty sure he is doing a "number 1" here, not a "loser"
Some funny differences between Park City and Provo that are pretty obvious...They also had little Hockey players instead of cheerleaders which I thought was pretty cool.At the end of the parade we were tuckered out! The boys scored some kazoos last minute and we headed home Even though we didn't really get to celebrate on the 4th, we had a great time. There is just nothing better than this Holiday. My friend Lindsay was saying that this holiday ties with Christmas and I have to agree. I love this Country so much and I appreciate all those who have sacrificed so that we can have the freedoms and luxuries that we enjoy.
I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday!!
