The best

Today was the best ever! I worked a graveyard shift last night which means that I get home at about 5:15am. When I got home I snuck into the boys room and checked on them and lucky me, I caught Gauge stirring. So I run into his room and change his little bum, happy as I can be to do it. At around 6, I am able to break away and cuddle up to Ryan in bed.

Next thing I know its 1pm. As I try to wake myself up I count how many hrs I have had to sleep and decide that I am at 8 now and I had better get up. Just then the door opens and Ry, Pax and Gauge all bust into the room and jump onto the bed with me. Ryan has a meal made for me in the kitchen and I am showered with kisses and hugs. I just have to be the most lucky woman in the world. I have the best family!

The rest of my day was spent watching a movie with Ryan and then going for a drive with everyone. Driving is a favorite past time of ours, its something Ryan and I have always done to get away. Even when we were dating, we would drive around in Ryan's Riv with Pink Floyd playing and just talk and talk. Now we have the boys to enjoy it with and the best part is that they almost always fall asleep, so its kind of like getting some time with Ryan alone.

I know it probably doesn't sound like much, but I really had such a great day. I love it when Ryan is home and I love spending time with these guys. Thank you so much Ry, for taking such good care of me! I love you!

I have to just add this side note because as I was thinking about it I realized that I really do not want to forget the little things like this about raising these boys. So, let me explain what it was like checking on the boys this morning.

When I walked in the room Paxton was laying in the middle of the floor. Every single night Paxton ends up on the floor somewhere. This time, his legs were right where I needed to stand at the end of Gauge's crib in order to get to Gauge. This was a bit of a predicament!

Some of you might think, why don't you move Paxton-especially since he is on the floor?! BUT at 5-6 in the am, you can't do one thing to wake this kid or any hopes Ryan had of sleeping or any hopes I may have had of getting to bed are OVER!

So really you need to imagine me in the dark, balancing in between Paxton's legs, not letting Gauge make a peep so that Paxt doesn't wake up, changing a poopy bum and then feeding the kid. It was a tough job and am happy to report it was a total success!
