Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
I know you are all probably tired of so many pictures these last few days, but this blog is a record for us as well. SO just think of it as making up for my long month of blogging slackerness!
For Paxton's birthday we decided to head out to the pumpkin patch. Pax had to wear his Spider-man costume, which I loved. He is starting to have quite the imagination and walking around places where people actually call you Spider-man has been so cool to him. King of the hill, he's showing me his muscles up there
Gauge kept trying to push the pumpkins up whenever they fell, he finally just layed on about three of them.Mom and Spider-manMy handsome Gauge-pondering just before the hayride. I think he looks like Ryan here.the Pumpkin Photo shoot.
woo-hoo!

They actually let us just pick a bunch of pumpkins. We came home with about six altogether-so today we did a little pumpkin carving...well Mommy didthis was my first attempt...Paxton was making a silly face for me, but don't let that fool you-he was pretty grossed out. I ended up digging the guts out too. Paxton's pumpkin
Next on the list, we had an activity for Gauge's birthday. That's where we did the trick or treating. For Halloween this year I am working- so I was wondering how to go about doing Halloween. Then, while wondering about it out loud at work, a friend of mine let me know about this cool place to take your kids Trick or treating called Trick or Treat Street. So we headed out there yesterday to do our trick or treating and to have our Halloween fun. I went out with both of my sisters and Heather's little girl Kyra.
Above you have us with the one and only Captain Jack Sparrow and one of his pirate's on the black pearl--pretty cool!I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

Gauge is Number 1!

Happy Birthday Gauge!
Yes, we have two birthdays, two days in a row. I like to think it is going to be the week of the Bastian's with Halloween right in the middle. Ryan is hoping the next kid comes on Oct 28th. After this week, I am a little worn out, but I would love it. I watch these two and we just want another one. A boy would be nice, especially if he is anything like the two we have now.
The day started out a bit the same, only I thought ahead and I got this baby made the day I baked the spider-man cake. I woke up earlier too, hoping to get it done faster so that we could have our day. One of my most favorite things in the world, is going in to get Gauge after he wakes up in the morning or after a nap. You never see a happier smile and he just holds on to me and gives me the biggest hug. That is how the day started.

Although I know Gauge didn't know it was his day today, I know he had an awesome day. He smiled all day long, and even though he is making this face with the cake below, I think he loved it!

Gauge, I cannot even begin to tell you what happiness you have brought into our lives. When we walk into a room, all we have to do is find Gauge to find a smile. You are always smiling at us and trying to get to us for hugs. You make cute little heavy breathing type sounds when you crawl, and they get louder the faster you go. You love your brother Paxton more than anything. Paxton can get you to laugh so hard and you always follow him everywhere. Right now Gauge, you love to clap. You mimic sounds too, especially yells. You talk your head off trying to get our attention -even if we're in another room (then you just get louder). You will most likely be a pro-wrestler. Your incredibly strong and it is always a chore to get that diaper onto your bum. You love it when I sing to you, you always reach up and touch my face. You are a cuddler. You allow yourself to lay on my shoulder and sometimes you will nuzzle your face into my neck. I just love it-your brother never cuddled with me like that. If we come into a room you find us and come over to us and climb up on our legs. You'll be walking soon. You stand in place for seconds at a time and you walk pretty well while holding our hands. You love to jump with Daddy on the trampoline. You love to jump ON Daddy off of the trampoline. I don't remember what this family was like without you honey. You have changed our lives so much and made us so much closer. I love you so much Gauger-you fill our lives with happiness. Happy Birthday baby boy!

The big 03

Happy Birthday Paxton!
I can't even explain what a proud mama I am. My little man is three, and he is such a special kid!
Unbeknownst to me, this day was going to take a lot more effort then I had originally thought. It all started out the night before. I was up after 2am trying to get this cake to come out of the pan without cracking. Its taken me weeks to get it planned... to get the cake pans, the food coloring that works and all of the other things that I needed to make this day perfect.
First thing this morning he wakes up and comes into my bedroom. I say "Happy Birthday Paxton" He responds by saying..."Now?" I say yes, today. He puts his finger up to his mouth as if he's thinking, then he walks over to the window, still in a pondering type mode, opens the blinds and then stands there. I wait while he ponders the type of day it is outside, then he turns around and looks at me and says, "Yeah, today is my birthday" as if he has decided that this day will work.

Today we had a big day, and it was all about Paxton-Spider man. He loved it. Whenever he saw a picture of Spider-man he would say "Hey, that's me!"

Paxton, we love you so much. You are such a special boy and you have such a sweet heart. I have never met a child so willing to be happy, so willing to help and so willing to love. You are always funny. You are a ham in almost everything that you do. You love to make us laugh. You will sit and play with Gauge and get him rolling, not only because it makes him happy, but you're happy as well. You love to help us, you are always outside with daddy, turning some sort of wrench right next to him. Your standing in front of us pushing the lawn mower while we mow the lawn. Your a thinker. There is so much going on in that head. You are always paying attention to others feelings and you'll ask me sometimes just to check "Mommy, you happy?" You are very independent. You need to do everything on your own. You like to show us that you can do everything. I watch you sometimes in the morning, get into the fridge, pull out the yogurt, you get your spoon and you start eating all by yourself. You are so loving. You always kiss everyone's owies and you are always eager to give us hugs. You blow kisses to us when we leave to work and you love for me to sing you to sleep. You are our little buddy Paxton and we know that we are blessed to have you. Happy Birthday sweetheart!

Paxton

Always trying to make us smile
