The great outdoors

The weather has been wonderful. We have been thinking about going camping and trying to decide when to go. We decided that last weekend was the time. Packed up our gear and headed out into the great outdoors...
Also known as the back yard?
Paxton was so excited when I set up the tent at approx 5:30pm that he immediately went inside and put on his PJs. When we wouldn't let him go straight to bed he decided that it was also time to be a cowboy since, you know, we're roughing it.
We got out the chairs and our mini marshmallows
and we hung out until late. We let the boys play until they couldn't play anymore
they played soccer jumped on the trampoline
and they played their little hearts out
At bedtime they sat in their sleeping bags and talked with mom and dadat which point they went to bed.
We had the most wonderful night in our own backyard.

Looks like a swell family outing! These are the things kids remember and have fond memories of.

Last time we camped in our backyard in Guam, the tent was flooded in the middle of the night with a heavy downpour. All headed inside...the next morning the tent was gone. Blew or floated away we have no idea.

So have you had family camping nite, under the stars, on the trampoline yet?

We do like to sleep on the tramp, although we haven't found a solution for the person in the center getting squished as gravity works its magic.

OH my gosh, I love it! Cody and I are really interested in a house in PG that has a HUGE side yard, we said that it would be perfect for little family camp outs. You have inspired us!

What a blast! That will be a treasured memory for your boys. I love the video clips of Paxton. Too funny! And that cracks me up that Gauge put himself into time out while wearing the lion costume!

Awesome idea. There's the superhero cowboy stance of Paxton's!
