It's Christmas at our house

Paxton has been on my case for some time to put up our Christmas decorations. Growing up we never put up decorations before Thanksgiving, usually we'd do it the day after. I realized though, that Christmas is really only a few weeks away and so far I haven't been feelin' it. It could be, perhaps, that my shoes are too tight. Or maybe my head hasn't been screwed on just right... Anyway, I decided that this year it would be okay to put up the decorations early.
We started with the decorations on Monday... and then we put up the tree on Tuesday. Well, I put up the tree. My little troopers decided that Christmas movies were way better so they became couch monkeys and hung out while I worked. The tree is decorated with ornaments from the waist up, for obvious reasons. We have our movies out, stockings up and a candy cane count down. Gauge has been given two ornaments that are both unbreakable which he continues to put on the tree, and take off of the tree whenever he gets a chance.

After we put up our decorations on Monday we hit the park with Dad so that he could have a break from his school stuff. It was COLD, but so beautiful!

When we got in the car to go home we were frozen and really happy. The sun was setting and Christmas lights were showing themselves through windows and on porches. As I looked out the window on the drive home I realized that my shoes were beginning to feel just right! Christmas here we come!

Hey Goldilocks...glad you found a pair of shoes that fit "just right." After that fun/busy week decorating and day at the park, you probably didn't care if the bed was 'too hard' or 'too soft'---any place to prop up your weary swollen feet was 'just right.'

Great idea for bulb placement at waist height and two non-breakable ornaments for the kids! I see the mom-of-the-year award in your horizon.

Oh and P.S. love the photo of Flash Gordon Ryan whizzing off the slide with his arms outstretched. Fun Dad he is! (Good practice move for when he finds out you're in labor, and he flys into action)
