Ilene's day

We started off the day at the Sacramento temple. I need to add that it was pretty windy. Everyone looked so good. Ryan was in awe of how beautiful every single sister looked and how wonderful it was to be with all of them at the temple.
We got to the temple and the boys hung out with the cousins in the waiting room.
The sealing was wonderful. It was the first one that I have been to with Ryan's family since Ryan and I were married and I couldn't help but reflect on that special day.
I was very emotional watching Ilene. She had the most perfect composure. She smiled so beautifully and looked so happy.
As we walked out of the sealing room I became overwhelmed again. Overwhelmed by the spirit, being with Ryan's family and as I experienced at my brother's Sealing with his family I just felt so close to the Lord. I am so thankful for the blessing of being together forever and I am so happy that Ilene will have that with Morgan. They will have each other FOREVER!
When we got outside to wait for Ilene and Morgan we took lots of pictures and Ryan took on the job of watching Gauge so that I wouldn't have to run after him in my heels.
There was a fountain right out front and that wind was BLOWING. Ryan followed Gauge around the fountain and found himself SOAKED with water after a huge gust of wind. Its a good thing he is so HOT or he would have been wet all day long Some of the cousins hanging out. I am sure that they were having a wonderful time. Look at all those smiles!Ilene and Morgan Compton!
It happened too quickly but Morgan showed off his sexy hot pink socks that I am sure he had on for Ilene. Her colors were hot pink and Zebra. Ilene had sexy zebra heels to match but I missed those too.
Ryan's sisters. So beautiful!
I have to mention how impressed I was with Christi during this whole wedding. Ilene didn't have her mom around to help plan the wedding. Sheila is way up in Idaho. Christi filled in as the support system for Ilene. She planned the brunch, helped Ilene plan the reception and helped the rest of us find room and board. She was going the whole time we were there and still managed to look beautiful and keep her composure. What a wonderful sister and friend she is to Ilene. I felt that it was very appropriate that the two of them have this picture together to remember this special day.

THE RECEPTION
I mentioned earlier that the colors were hot pink and zebra. I wasn't kidding. Look at this cake...
I have never seen a cooler wedding cake! Paxton was really impressed too
Morgan and Ilene cutting the cake. He was polite. He kept it clean.
Carly, Christi and Stacy performed "wishing and hoping" from My Best Friends Wedding
I didn't have a good spot on the dance floor so I only have the back of Christi but at the end she pushes the lead singer out of the way and takes the last word, it was hilarious!
Throwing the bouquet, Stacy one of Ilene's best friends, caught it.
Then there was dancing...Paxton is turning into such a boy. This was his facial expression for most of the night. We ended up leaving early. It was pretty cold out and Gauge was sacked by the time the dancing started so we missed a lot of the party. It was so nice to watch a little bit of Morgan and Ilene together though. They were so in love.
Paxton and "princess Ilene" that's what Paxton called her
Ilene sang "Way I am" by Ingred Michaelson and Morgan almost ran to her afterwards, took her into his arms and kissed her. It was so sweet. You could tell that they were really happy.
Congratulations Ilene and Morgan. Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!

Loved all the pics and your sweet sentiments, thanks Whit! We loved having everyone here for Ilene and Morgan. She said that she felt very honored by the families presence and that the wedding/reception couldn't have turned out better! Well maybe one thing, the weather.:)
We had so much fun hanging out the last night too! We loved talking, joking and just being totally relaxed with you guys! THanks for being so cool! We love you both tremendously!

Great post! Oh, how we need to have so many more late night chats with all of us.......it makes me sad that we don't get to do it very often. I do cherish all of the time that we get to spend together.

Thanks Ryan for the nice compliments...us 'single' gals appreciate them as we had no significant other to see us all dolled up. It was so nice sitting by you at the temple. I could hear your swallow several times trying not to spill any emotions over, but it was an incredibly tender moment having (almost) all of there in the Lord's house. A glimpse of the future.

You two looked fantastic! Nothing more attractive than an glowing expecting mother and two parents who love their children. Love you guys!
