This is my most favorite time of year. The fall, but also the whole month of October. This is a busy month for us. There is a lot to prepare for!
Birthdays for two little Bastian boys, Halloween and this month Ryan's sister Ilene is getting married.
To begin with our festivities we decided to make some sugar cookies. We just made some that looked like pumpkins
Gauge got into this really quickly. He realized right away that sprinkles were treats. Thankfully he didn't realize that icing was too! He ate them, and he put them on the cookies. Mostly though, he ate them.
Paxton was my faithful icing spreader. He was so careful to get the icing all over the pumpkin. They actually turned out alright!
After the pumpkins we decided to make a paper chain. Since there are so many things to look forward to this month we thought we better have a visual count down.

Paxton helped me cut and Gauge supervised
(which is odd too because I can't get that kid to eat ANYTHING!)Ta da! You can see the pure joy on his face, he can't believe he finally has a paper chain! First thing on it is Aunt Ilene's wedding. We get to head out to California and see all of our cousins and stay at a "swimming hotel"
When we get back we get to find some pumpkins because Paxton finds every single house that has them on their porch and shouts out that "they have Halloween Mom"
I thinks its time to find a Batman costume too.
We can't wait!

What fun events! I wish that my sugar cookies looked as good as those......I don't have the patience to frost them so that they look good. See you very soon!! I am so excited that we will get to hang out for a few days!
I tagged you. I know some people hate them so don't feel like you have to do it if you don't want. Check my blog to know what the heck I'm talking about.
Did you buy the cookie cutters at Smith's? I have some very similar and have had the very fun of using them twice already this month. The chain is a great idea!! I am sure the visual is very helpful!
Yummy!! I can't believe you guys are having a girl! That is soooo exciting! Congrats! I can't wait to see what a little beautiful Bastain girl will look like! And Shelby is such a cute name!
Love the countdown chain, and I agree it isn't fall, or you don't "have Halloween" w/o pumpkin cutout cookies!
So good to see you guys in CA! Y'all are such a cute family. I wish there was more time together tho! Ryan, somehow I didn't get a photo of you dancing with Ilene, for her scrapbook. Sure love you guys.
You know my love of Halloween! The countdown chain is genius, what a good idea!! My boys are excited, too. Cache loves it when we turn on the Halloween lights and our spooky village. Hey! You need to email me - we are having our annual Halloween party this year and I would love for you and Ryan to come. Send me an email and I'll give you the details!
